What is SEAS?

SEAS President - 2023-2024

The Southeastern Angiographic Society (SEAS) was founded in 1974 by a group of radiologists who were primarily involved in catheter angiography. SEAS incorporated in the State of Georgia and now has members from all over the Southeast and along the eastern seaboard.

Although the society was established to provide continuing education for physicians engaged in angiography, the founders recognized a responsibility to educate the entire radiology community. As the practice of Vascular and Interventional Radiology evolved over the last 40 years, so has the content of the SEAS annual meeting. The meeting has grown in scope to match today’s expanding IR practice with CME credit granted for participation.

The annual scientific meeting is one of the best kept secrets in Interventional Radiology. The membership comprises a mix of private and academic practice interventionalists from across the Southeast. The half day meeting format is designed for a robust educational experience in the mornings with the afternoons free for socializing, networking and relaxation. Afternoon and evening activities provide time to get to know like-minded individuals and build lasting relationships.

The meeting encourages active interaction between attendees and faculty. This results in a highly collegial exchange of information and provides the opportunity to share ideas and solutions to simple and complex issues, bringing attendees up to date on new and innovative technologies.

The Southeastern Angiographic Society is open to any physician or medical professional interested in the practice of Interventional Radiology.  We have a strong commitment to education, and offer trainees the opportunity to apply for registration scholarships allowing free meeting attendance.
